Hi, I am Sally Durow
I live in Porlock, Somerset, with my husband Ade and our two cats — Lando (yes, named after the F1 World Champion) and Dexter (not named after the serial killer, I promise).
When I'm not shooting, you'll probably find me out on the Exmoor trails — hiking or running, though "running" is generous. Last year I combined my passion for the outdoors and photography and was thrilled to win the 'People and Path' category for the South West Coast Path Photographer of the Year.
My Journey to the Lens...
I've loved photography for about 20 years. It started as a child playing with my dad's camera, spending ages twisting the lens until things came into focus.
I shot landscapes for years before weddings found me — and I wasn't expecting to love it quite so much.
Wedding days have a kind of energy that's hard to describe. Even in the quiet before it all gets started there's always something happening — nerves, laughter, a look between two people that lasts half a second.
My Approach...
I want to actually be part of your day — relaxed enough that you forget I'm there, but close enough that I catch the moments that matter.
I'm not there with a rigid shot list — I'm just keeping an eye on what's unfolding and making sure nothing gets missed. The quieter moments as much as the obvious ones.
If it sounds like something you'd like, I'd love to hear about your day.
